You have decided to take the step and start yoga. Welcome to your Yoga Practice.
Everyone comes to yoga for very different reasons, whether it be for relaxation, stress & anxiety relief, Flexibility, injury recovery, building whole body strength, agility & Mobility the list could go on and on.
We encourage everyone to step onto the mat with an open mind, as what yoga is fantastic at doing is unlocking the physical body but also the mental and emotional bodies as well. What this means is you begin to experience life and yourself from the inside out.
Our focus and Vision here at Raw Yoga is based on Patanjali's 8 fold path of Yoga. This path encompasses many aspects of yoga. What you will expect to find at Raw is a strong, mindful and physical practice. Drawing awareness to the breath and movement, along with how the movement and flow comes from the core of the body and your breath.
As mentioned above yoga looks different for each person. We are not striving to all be the same, nor do we expect everyone to achieve the same things.
We challenge you to turn up and be open with what you are wanting out of your practice, ask questions and give yourself the permission to set the ego aside for an hour or so and enjoy the time spent on breath, movement and self discovery.
Yoga really is for everyBODY, you don't have to be a spiritual person, we are all here to move, revive the senses and create a little more internal connection.
READY TO Take your practice to the next level?
Now you have taken the first step. We want to make sure you are progressing in your practice.
If you have started with our Beginner Vinysasa classes, you could also be attending our Slow flow classes. Whats great about both of these classes is that they move at a slower pace and will focus a lot on flexibility.
What the studio is offering is a whole body experience of classes. Our Raw Vinyasa classes tend to move at a faster pace and are more dynamic. They will include more strength variations and start working with arm balances, Inversions and deeper backbends.
We have created a list of poses that you will be able to work towards in the beginner/slow flow classes. If you are feeling comfortable in your body with at least three of them then you will be ready to try Raw Vinyasa.
We also offer Aerial yoga, this class is designed to offer something our mat classes can not. Mat Yoga gives the body an opportunity to push and build strength and flexibility. Aerial yoga offers more of a pull factor. It helps to build mobility and is a complimentary practice to your mat yoga.
