I am not a long time student of NZ School of Yoga but became a devoted one in a very short period of time.
At the time I first visited (NZSY), a yoga studio I had been at over a number of years had just closed which prompted to look further afield at a different style of yoga to help advance my progress. I had never done Iyengar prior so wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
After a session with Mike, I realised what my practise was missing. Mikes experience, wisdom and attention to my needs with regards to breathing & stretching techniques has given me the tools to help advance my practise to another level and beyound.
While I have read many books on Yoga, the Interactive Yoga series Mike and Sharon wrote are my go to resources (they are nothing less than fantastic). However when I need that inspiration and focus, there’s a voice my head reminding me…
“long slow deep breathing”& “let the stretch come to you”
No second guessing who belongs to this voice.
